The Livingston County 4–H Livestock Auction provides youth a unique learning opportunity through the 4-H Market Animal Project. 4-H members participating in a market animal project learn how to raise a high quality product (beef, hog, lamb, or birds) for the consumer, as well as important business skills such as financial management; marketing; and record management. The 4-H member tracks expenses, income, and the profit/loss of their project. Support from buyers who purchase a 4-H market animal project is crucial to the sustainability of this program.
